Use this guide when your Era Trade dashboard asks you to connect Bybit to a challenge.

Important: Bybit is connected to Era Trade through API exclusively via a separate sub-account. One sub-account = one challenge = one API key.

Era Trade will set the starting balance for your challenge size automatically through API.

Important: the API key must be created in the browser/web version of Bybit. It cannot be created in the Bybit mobile app. After the API is created and connected, you can trade from the Bybit mobile app.

1. Log in to Bybit in a browser and choose a sub-account

Open bybit.com in a browser, log in to Bybit, and choose or create a separate sub-account specifically for this challenge.

Do not use the same sub-account for multiple challenges.

2. Open Demo Trading in the correct sub-account

Open the correct sub-account / demo environment and choose Demo Trading.

Confirm that this is the correct sub-account for this exact challenge, not a live account, Testnet, or another sub-account.

3. Create an API key for this sub-account

In Demo Trading for the selected sub-account, open: avatar → API → Create New Key.

Select System-generated API Key.

API settings:

  • Permissions: Read-Write / trading enabled;
  • Account type: Unified Trading Account if Bybit asks you to choose;
  • Assets permissions: enable if shown;
  • IP restriction: No IP restriction.

The API key must be created in Demo Trading for the selected sub-account.

If you are setting this up from a phone, create the API key through the browser/web version of Bybit, not through the mobile app.

4. Prepare the sub-account before connecting

  • close all open positions;
  • cancel all active limit and pending orders;
  • do not request additional demo funds;
  • do not adjust the balance manually;
  • if funds already exist in the demo environment, keep them in USDT/USDC and do not convert them into other coins.

Era Trade will set the challenge balance automatically through API after the connection.

Important: only Era Trade-supported USDT Futures pairs are allowed in a Bybit challenge.

5. Copy the API Key and API Secret

After the key is created, Bybit will show:

  • API Key;
  • API Secret.

Copy both values and paste them into the Bybit connection form in your Era Trade dashboard.

API Secret is shown only once. If you close the window and do not save it, create a new API key in Demo Trading for the same sub-account and connect it again.

6. Do not change anything after connection

After the challenge is connected, the sub-account and API key must not be deleted, edited, replaced, or used for another active challenge without Era Trade approval.

If the API key expires or disconnects, use reconnect or contact support.

If the connection does not work

  • check that you are using the correct sub-account for this challenge;
  • check that the key was created in Demo Trading;
  • check that System-generated API Key was selected;
  • check that Read-Write / trading permissions are enabled;
  • check that IP restriction is disabled.

If the error remains, contact Era Trade support and do not change keys randomly.
