Step 1 — Choose or create a separate Bybit sub-account

If you choose a Bybit challenge at Era Trade, API connection is made only through a separate Bybit sub-account.

One sub-account = one challenge = one API key. If you have multiple challenges, each challenge requires its own sub-account and API key.

KYC on Bybit is usually not required for demo trading, but Bybit requirements may change. Era Trade verification is required before payout.

Step 2 — Open Demo Trading for the correct sub-account

Open the correct Bybit sub-account / demo environment and choose Demo Trading.

Confirm that you are in Demo Trading for the correct sub-account, not a live account, Testnet, or another challenge.

Step 3 — Create an API key for this sub-account

In Demo Trading for the selected sub-account, open avatar → API → Create New Key and choose System-generated API Key.

  • Permissions: Read-Write / trading enabled.
  • Account type: Unified Trading Account if Bybit asks you to choose.
  • Assets permissions: enable if shown.
  • IP restriction: No IP restriction.

Era Trade needs the API key from the assigned sub-account’s Demo Trading environment.

Important: the API key must be created in the browser/web version of Bybit. It cannot be created in the Bybit mobile app. After the API is connected, you can trade from the Bybit mobile app.

Step 4 — Prepare the sub-account before connection

  • close all open positions;
  • cancel all active orders;
  • do not request additional demo funds;
  • do not adjust the balance manually;
  • if funds already exist in the demo environment, keep them in USDT/USDC.

You do not need to adjust the amount manually — Era Trade will set the starting balance automatically through API in the assigned demo environment.

Step 5 — Paste API Key and API Secret into Era Trade

Copy API Key and API Secret and paste them into the Bybit connection form in your Era Trade dashboard.

API Secret is shown only once. If you lose it, create a new API key in Demo Trading for the same sub-account.

Step 6 — Trade only allowed instruments

Only Era Trade-supported USDT Futures pairs are allowed in a Bybit challenge. Spot, Options, USDC pairs, inverse contracts, and unsupported instruments do not count and may violate the rules.

After connection, the sub-account and API key must not be deleted, modified, replaced, or used for another active challenge without Era Trade approval.

Funded-stage note

Even at the funded stage, the platform account may remain a demo account. This does not mean that real funds are deposited into the trader’s personal Bybit account. Era Trade payouts are calculated under funded-account rules and processed through Era Trade’s payout system.
